OSL

Jean-Pierre PRAJOUX studied music at the Saint Etienne and Lyon conservatories, where he obtained distinctions for the trumpet and cornet. He also followed courses on musical analysis, aesthetics and composition as well as studying orchestral conducting with Roger and Yves Cayrol, Dominique Ruitz and Pierre Bégou.

Director of several music schools (Brignais, Intercommunale de Quincié-Beaujeu), he ensures the complete musical training of his pupils by encouraging them to participate in choirs, orchestras and musical shows.

Since 1990, he has been conductor of several local orchestras (Quincié, Neuville, Tarare, Brignais), which has provided him with the opportunity to work with various types of group of musicians (wind band, symphony orchestra, choir, instrumental and vocal soloists), sometimes together, to lay on concerts and shows over a wide repertory (light and classical music, jazz, modern music etc.) in the Rhône-Alpes region, during foreign tours, and at international festivals in Germany, Portugal and Italy.

Since 1998, he has also acted as conductor of operatic orchestras in Lyon, Villeurbanne and Tarare.

In 2001, he took over as conductor of the Orchestre Symphonique de Lyon, to which he has brought his extensive capabilities and experience.
